Prayer for Peace
Peace isn't the absence of trouble. It's the presence of God in the middle of it. Pray this when your mind won't settle, when your home feels tense, or when the news is heavy.
✦ The prayer
Jesus, You said, "My peace I give to you." I need it today.
Quiet my mind. I bring You the things I keep turning over: the worries about money, health, the people I love, and the future. I can't fix them by thinking harder. I give them to You.
Bring peace to my home. Soften hard words. Help us listen before we answer.
And bring peace to our nation. We are divided in a lot of ways, but You are not. Give our leaders humility and self-control. Help neighbors who disagree to still treat each other with respect. Make us peacemakers, not just peace-wanters.
Let Your peace, which goes beyond understanding, guard my heart and my mind today. In Jesus' name, amen.
