Capitol Culture is committed to handling your information with the same care and integrity we bring to everything else. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.
This policy applies to capitolculture.com and the services we operate. Capitol Culture is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
We only collect information you choose to give us. That includes:
- Contact details — name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and church or organization, when you submit a form, join the prayer network, or reach out to us.
- Donation information — the amount and frequency of your gift, and the details needed to process it. Payment card numbers are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Application information — background, calling, and related details you provide when applying to the chaplain program.
- Site usage data — pages visited, approximate location, browser and device type, collected automatically through Squarespace analytics and cookies.
We use your information to:
- Process donations and send tax-deductible giving receipts
- Respond to questions, speaking requests, and inquiries
- Review and follow up on chaplain program applications
- Send prayer updates, ministry news, and event information to people who have asked for them
- Coordinate Capitol Prayer Room scheduling and sponsorships
- Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
We use trusted third-party services to operate. Each handles data under its own privacy policy:
- Squarespace — website hosting and analytics
- Stripe — donation and payment processing
- JotForm — contact, application, and sponsorship forms
- Mailchimp — email updates and newsletters
- Calendly — scheduling calls and meetings
We may also disclose information where required by law, or where necessary to protect the rights and safety of Capitol Culture or others.
Conversations with a Capitol Culture chaplain are treated as pastoral and confidential. We do not publish, share, or report on the content of those conversations, and confidentiality is a core commitment of the chaplaincy model we teach and practice — subject to the limited circumstances where disclosure is legally required.
