The Oklahoma Legislative Fellowship Program makes it all possible.

***PROGRAM UPDATE***

Beginning in 2025, the Oklahoma Legislative Fellowship Program schedule is shifting from the academic year to the calendar year. The application window for the 2025 fellowship class is now open. Applications must be submitted by October 31, 2024. Fellows will be notified by December 5, 2024.

HOW IT WORKS

1.

Emerging leaders (age 18-23) from across Oklahoma can apply for the Fellowship Program.

Applications are due by October 31, 2024.

2.

One applicant from each Oklahoma House and Senate district is selected to participate in the Fellowship Program.

All Applicants will be notified of their status by December 5, 2024.

3.

Fellows participate in live and virtual events throughout the year, benefitting from the leadership, network and support of former and current Oklahoma leaders.

4.

At the conclusion of the program, Fellow’s work in groups to present a solution to an issue or topic and dialogue with current policy makers at the Opportunity Summit. A graduation reception follows the Opportunity Summit and fellows are invited to participate in future alumni opportunities/events.

Should you apply?

Fellowship applicants must meet the following qualifications in the respective class year:

  • Have graduated from high school or equivalent by Jan 1.
  • Are no younger than 18 and no older than 23 years of age by Jan. 1, .
  • Have a desire to grow in leadership ability and opportunity.
  • Are able to fully participate in the Fellowship Program, including attending both Summit events and at least four of the Fellow Fridays outlined below.
  • Are able to fund any costs associated with traveling to/attending the Summit events in Oklahoma City. *Once onsite, all food and program materials are provided at no cost.

Led by community, business and policy leaders across the state, discuss the unique opportunities, challenges and issues facing Oklahoma. (Approx. 90 mins. of reading/research assigned prior to each event.)

During this capstone experience, work collectively to identify solutions to a specific challenge or opportunity facing Oklahoma and present them to participating legislators and advisory board members.

Program Leadership

The Oklahoma Legislative Fellowship Program is led by Founder/Director Tom Robins. Tom is a sought-after consultant and coalition organizer, with nearly two decades of experience in government and organizational leadership. He previously served as Oklahoma’s Deputy Secretary of Energy and now leads Solid Foundation Consulting.
